They just moved to a Phonics-centered Science of Reading curriculum which seems sound. (Thanks to the NAACP for pushing APS on this.) APS also now are using at least some of the Core Knowledge curriculum, which is sound and builds good knowledge foundations. (CK is NOT related to Common Core, btw.) So APS has made big recent improvements in these areas. [/quote]
