It doesn’t mean we’re enemies, or even that we disagree on fundamentals. It does not mean we’re pro-China or anti-Taiwan.

4. We helped you in your war of Independence. Remember Lafayette (I descend from his wife’s family)? We hold values of Liberty, Equality, Fraternity. We elect our Presidents by direct vote, instead of your electoral college. Our government is much more representative than yours. Don’t pretend to be more democratic.
