I would really be annoyed if I lived anywhere near a mosque or church or any religious organization that had loud bells or speakers going off so early or late in the day. The ordinance is now amended to read that the following are exempt from being a violation of the noise ordinance:

"Sounds created by bells, chimes, carillons, amplifying equipment, or sounds associated with religious worship no more than six (6) minutes in any one (1) hour and no more than sixty (60) minutes in a twenty-four-hour period,"

Up to an hour a day is excessive. And how is it fair for any religion to be allowed to make noise early in the morning or at night? This isn’t anything against Muslims, I would just not want to hear a call to prayer over loudspeakers 35 times a week from any religion being broadcast over loudspeakers that I could hear from my house.
