Dating used to be a way to find potential long term partners. How we got to a point where dating is just for fun without any intention of longevity or marriage? At least that's how its seen in 15-35 crowd. How is it changing our society? What are the pros and cons?
From the responses you're already getting above, you can see that PPs are scoffing. I think it's your wording. What you mean, and I see this happening too, is that people are more openly dating solely to have sex, without even a pretense of starting a relationship first. People have always dated just as a way to get sex but I think now it's considered OK, even the norm among some people, to equate "dating" with "having sex by the third (or fourth etc.) date and regularly after that, or I'm gone, and will find someone else who'll have sex after minimal time together." Because that's their end game, not a relationship or eventual commitment of any kind. And I hate it, because it cheapens sex while at the same time elevating it into the No. 1 priority between two people.
Obviously regular fun and sex with new partners without any social taboos is an advantage (especially since birth control and safe abortion practices lowered unwanted pregnancies), its taking away love, support and stability that comes with relationships.
