Sorry this is going to be long, but I have so much to say. I have done three bathroom renovations, all in teeny bathrooms in which we didn't expand or move around fixtures, and every one of them elicits oohs and ahhs and they make me so happy every day! The things that make me happiest: Mirrors. Emily Henderson said a mirror is like the jewelry of the bathroom and she's right on this one. I also did recessed medicine cabinets in the master bathroom and boy do those make me happy. Little extras like unique lighting, fun shower curtains, pretty toilet paper holders and towel hooks, hardware, and trash cans. I love get these things from Anthropologie. This is a weird one, but a flat transition between the bathroom floor and the adjacent floor. We just have a piece of schluter in there and it is just a really clean, pretty transition. And no tripping over a threshold. I thought hard about how we could do a smart use of space as far as the functionality of the bathroom, what I did is just as good as changing the layout or moving plumbing would have been. We got a custom vanity that is perfect for the space and has two sinks instead of one. It's only 48 inches and narrower than a regular vanity, but it is actually plenty of space for a double sink. Wall-mount faucets: makes it easier to clean and makes the bathroom look unique. The vibes: in the powder room I wanted to go dramatic yet quaint, and in the kids' bathroom I wanted to go very calm (one of my kids has anxiety). I think I did a pretty good job and the bathrooms just make you feel good, as weird as that sounds for a bathroom. Lastly, a bidet. :) Here is an example of the kind of thing I got from anthropology that was an easy way to make the bathroom more fun: https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/primrose-toilet-paper-holder?category=bathroom&color=007&type=STANDARD&size=One%20Size&quantity=1 https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/all-ears-knobs-set-of-2?category=hardware&color=007&type=STANDARD&size=Set%20Of%202&quantity=1 https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/bistro-tile-flush-mount?category=bathroom-lighting&color=007&type=STANDARD&size=One%20Size&quantity=1
