DC has had an experience that is really, truly, pretty miserable with a staff member (I don't want to specify further). DC has show true grit to stick with it, get past the negativity, and lots of other aspects of dealing with this person (people, actually). There is no option to not deal with these people if DC wishes to accomplish a particular goal. The entire thing -DC's experience- stresses me out and causes a lot of anxiety in me as an adult (and I am no shrinking violet and could write a hell of an essay if I were in DC's shoes). I don't know how DC handles it with such grace. (FTR, I've not approached these people or done anything re: DC navigating it other than supporting/encouraging).

Just wondering:
-has anyone's DC written an essay that is linked to the HS they currently attend; and
-how do you think this would be received by colleges (not asking if YOU personally think it is whiny or whatever, as I know those opinions run the gamut and I'm not even sure I know how I come out on that, but schools)?

This is not a done deal, or anywhere close to it, as we are just approaching the time for this in the next year. I just wanted crowdsource opinions. [/quote]
