He was given credit for his PhD and his years teaching at the university, which certainly helped his beginning pay. He had to get certified, which involved enrolling in an alternative route program through a local university. It took him 2 years, but he made a regular salary during that time. OP, I recommend looking at private school jobs. [/quote]
