Hi all, I just received an email for my 8th grader to come into the building on 3 separate occasions for testing. He has an IEP and is currently enrolled in the home/hospital program. I know I am technically not allowed to opt him out, but I am not sending him into the building for these stupid tests. He has missed almost an entire year of school (besides the small bit the IIS tutors do) due to an ongoing illness. How do I opt him out of this without it becoming an issue? Just ignore them? Thank you!
Ask the counselor. If it’s Algebra 1, the state test is a requirement for high school graduation. It could be taken later but it makes more sense to take it the same year as when the student takes the course.
