Which is better- BU or Northeastern?
You cannot compare two schools without knowing the major/areas of interest. Know that NEU has an overcrowding situation that is not going to get any better because they once again have modified some of their "non Boston campus" admission rules. After much complaining from students accepted to the "4 years in Oakland" (who can blame them, nobody applied to NEU wanting to spend 4 years in Oakland CA), they will now allow those students to transfer after 1 year---making it just like NUBound is this year. So that could mean an extra 400-800 students on Boston campus come fall 2024. And they have guaranteed them housing sophomore year, so continue to say hello to "forced doubles"/put 2 people in 130sqft and "forced triples" So basically NEU is ALL about having more and more students and collecting the money, but the infrastructure is not in place to support this.
I have a freshman at Northeastern now. Rooms are small, but at some level, that is city living. Not sure one school is "better" than the other overall. They each have plusses and minuses. Among the plusses for NU are that it has a nice campus, and a well developed coop program, which can really serve as a bridge into the workforce. Not as familiar with BU, but my step-sister had a good experience there 20 years ago.
