Considering so many kids from the TPMS go on to Blair, any thoughts from parents of kids in that grade what it is like in terms of culture and socially? Is it cliquey or are the kids hyper competitive? A nice group that gets along with minimal drama? Year to year it can be so different.
My 8th grader made a lot of friends at TPMS and there hasn't been any drama at all that I know of. In fact, the social life at TPMS has been his favorite aspect of the magnet experience. He has made friends who share the same humor and similar interests. He has never mentioned feeling like he is in competition with anyone, in fact they have been generally encouraging and supportive! I overhear conversations often and I'm grateful for all the friends he made. I know there's this stereotype of the kids on here and I'm not sure where it's from to be honest!
My 8th grader at TPMS has no social life at all, though reports the other kids in magnet are generally nice and supportive.
