[/quote] I would say no, because this pretty much says "whether you get A or B in MP1 does not matter, because you need to always get A in MP2" and in such a system students will tend to relax in MP1. I think the most sensible system is to not reset the grading at the end of MP1. Just continue the grading until the end of the semester. Family in midwest says that is what happens in their kids' schools.[/quote]
