I do not fault the principal in any way for what happened - and I actually feel terrible for him that he was supposed to send a mass email to parents in the midst of a crisis. Other than the communication fowl which shouldn't have been his responsibility in the first place[b], the response was handled well. The kid was immediately identified, all of our kids knew what to do and what was happening, and everyone remained safe. That is what matters to me.
