OP, we had visa issues two years ago and had to leave the country for the last 2 weeks of 10th grade. Everyone was very sympathetic, some teachers gave my son bundles of work in advance, to do as he could during his time away. He handed in all his work on Google Classroom, and was not penalized for things he missed. But this was during the pandemic (which is why the visa issues happened in the first place), and I think everyone was exceptionally lenient because of that weird time. Maybe they wouldn't be so lenient now? The best thing you can do is be honest and ask the counselor in advance. See what they say.[/quote]
