Imo it just depends on what your needs are. Just need shelves and hanging bars? Home Depot Everbilt and a bolt cutter is just as good as Elfa imo. Need drawers, but not to maximize space or do anything crazy? I would definitely at least look at the IKEA system. Kitting out a master closet where you want to use every inch and have special shoe things and lots of drawers? Elfa is expensive but really great in my experience.

People on this board tend to really not like wire shelves, but I wouldn’t rule them out unless you really don’t like the look. With the plastic liners they’re so functional. I love that dust falls through and air circulates, personally. The mesh Elfa shelves don’t leave marks on any of my clothes. [/quote]
