It is hard to overstate how massive St. Elsewhere was.  Mark Harmon, Denzel Washington, Howie Mendel, Ed Begley Jr., and David Morse all got their start on St. E.  It was the grand-daddy of ER and Grey's.  For some bizarre reason, it was never really syundicated so people don't remember it as much now, but it was definitely appointment TV in the 80's for teenagers up through old geezers.

White Shadow was also awesome.

I think she called Paul Newman Uncle Paul, so that definitely counts as Hollywood royalty.

When the Weinstein story broke, I was really surprised by how her family connections did NOT play into the story.  First, most predators will avoid someone with that kind of connections --- they are looking for someone that doesn't have the connections to fight back.  Second, why did she run to Brad Pitt for help, instead of Uncle Paul?  I feel like one of her dad's friends would have been well situated to *really* threaten HW.  Brad threatened to beat him up.  Paul could have threatened to ruin him.  I was also surprised that Mira Sorvino was not better able to leverage her dad's connections when threatened by HW.  I don't think her dad was as well connnected, though.  [/quote]

What’s interesting about some of these Hollywood sex offenders is that they DID target and attack women with powerful connections. Watch the HBO doc about Drew Dixon, daughter of DC mayor and NCS/Stanford pedigree, and the hip hop mogul who raped her. I too would have thought more connected women were safer from such assaults. But maybe going after powerful women is part of the kick of it for these men.[/quote]
