[/quote] OP here, authors are a good category. I guess I don't think about what they sound like often because they have a "voice" in their writing. But yes, I've been surprised by the voices of some writers. I remember seeing Celeste Ng on a talk show and being surprised at how young and casual she sounds (her writing and her name both sound very wise and mature so it was strange when she sounded... like me). Now I'm going to go find audio of some of my favorite authors to see how well it matches up to the voice in my head based on their writing...[/quote]
