Can Israel continue to exist/thrive without the support of American Jews? Overall, aren’t most American Jews liberal with younger ones siding more with the plight of the Palestinians? I know there are some conservative Jewish groups but their numbers seemingly seem to be dwindling. Are evangelical Christians replacing the liberal / progressive American Jews in supporting Israel? That’s my spidey-sense not based on first-hand knowledge. Without the liberal American Jewish support, it seems to this outsider that Israel will only harden its resolve. Does it matter if American Jews support Israel? Does it even matter if the US supports it anymore? Are they still an important ally for now and in the future?
So American Jews make up about 2-3% of the population. Their support for Israel really does matter. Evangelical Christian make up 30-35% of the population. Israel support in the US is from the EC and they are crazy right wing. Bibi knows this and really does not care about American Jewish support. American Jews are 51% of the world’s population and have no say about Israel’s government or policies. Interestingly Israel is about 30% of the Jewish population world wide.
