Bucknell punches well above its weight placing in finance. Rivals lower tier ivies and Rice, Vanderbilt, Gtown, and ND specifically placing in NYC. Extremely enthusiastic and committed alumni base willing to help
Honestly, I'm speechless. Several popular kids who are in the bottom fifth of my DC's Big 3 hope to go there. It's a very preppy school filled with extremely attractive upper middle class kids but to put it in the same sentence as Rice, Vanderbilt, Gtown is insane. it's basically an extension of a waspy boarding school - the equivilent of what Dennison and Trinity were back in the 90s, neither which for whatever reason continued on the trajectory. No one outside of Bucknell is talking about the impact of the grads in NYC (outside of getting into WASPY clubs).
The ironic thing is from my public hs in central pa, the few kid(s) who consistently go to bucknell are usually east or south Asian unhooked high scoring pre-meds from well off parents who don’t want to go to a large state university but dont get into t20s Bucknell, lehigh and Rochester are the three that these type of smart but basic Asian kids apply (and get into). And they end up going and liking it. So while your idea of bucjnell is kinda true there is also a whole other side to it.
