Next month I have an all day office retreat on a Saturday. My husband will be out of town. I need a sitter to watch my 5 year old for 7 hours, including taking him to his baseball game about 2 miles away. Like an idiot, I signed up to bring snacks for the team on the same day. I'll pay extra for gas. And should I try to get my snack day changed? Or ask the sitter to carry them to the game? Pay some extra for the annoyance of this? And he usually gets McDonalds after games. Should I ask her to do that too? Should I have healthier food available for her at my house or just give her $ for her lunch at McDonalds too? And finally, is this asking too much of a sitter? I am hoping that as long as I pay well, this is reasonable. I'd especially love to hear from sitters/nannies. TIA.
Buy something easy to transport at Costco or Target, e.g. individual packets of crackers and juice boxes. Sitter can take it to the game, should be fine. Leave money for McDonald's, both sitter and son will be thrilled. Sitter can have a salad if she doesn't do burgers etc. I don't think this is asking too much of the sitter, really I don't.
