Zoo, Park Postal, and Federal Reserve chiefs ultimately report to people appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. Amtrak has a board, whose members are appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. It sounds like you’re endorsing the Kramer bill, or perhaps that you want to go further and have the executive appoint all members instead of just the chair. [/quote]
