Ask the rover sitter. I had one candidate whose profile said the same thing but my dog sleeps in the bed and I knew he would expect to do so elsewhere, so it would be a dealbreaker. She said she has that in there because some dogs are incontinent or huge or shed a lot. My small non shedding dog would be allowed.
So you only board your dog where they sleep with the sitter in bed?
Correct. Believe me, I did not originally intend for this dog to sleep in the bed (or go on the couch). I spent an inordinate amount of time and effort trying to train him not to. Turns out he is actually even more stubborn than I am. Just as some people try mightily to breastfeed and ultimately land on formula feeding, I ultimately settled on having him sleep in the bed. So when I board him, I set him and the sitter up for success by being clear upfront.
Is it hard finding a sitter who allows the dog to sleep on the bed? Is your dog always alone or with others?
