Alderton's role as chair of the school board, Shen her own children have never gone to ACPS has always struck me as off. At one time she had three family members working for ACPS which would be a financial interest. The teachers union endorsed her as did tgr Fenicrstic party when she works for a nonprofit that advocates for charter schools. Regardless of my opinions on charters, there is the argument that charters threaten public education funding. Alderton has been vocal about the Youngkin admin even penning an OpEd in the Washington Post, yet she herself supports charter schools and Catholic education. Why do people go after other school board member but not her? Why is no one running against this person who really doesn't care about public education?
