Dr. Heather Johnson of Ritter, Hill, and Johnson was AMAZING!! We are from NC and traveled to DC to have our son. Since NC is battling a ban on gay marriage amendment, we wanted to have some leagal protection from another state by having my partner be on the birth certificate. Dr. Johnson has a wonderful bed side manor and was the head of her academic dept before going into private practice. She delivered our son via c-section on 12 Apr 12. She treated my partner as a 100% equal mom. She visited me every day I was in the hopital over a weekend. She listened to all of my fears, gripes, and complaints. We finished our prenatal care with Dr. Johnson at 36 weeks. Our son was born via c-section at 39 weeks. The whole practice is very good I hear but Dr. Johnson was truly wonderful. The ultrasound tech is gay and there are 2 other Dr.'s in the practice that are gay, though I do not know their names. Sibley is an older hospital and the rooms are small. The night nurses leave something to be desired but the lactation consultants were outstandning. Dr. Johnson and Sibley Memorial are he way to go for any same sex couple having a baby in DC! Good luck!
