NP - I never get fevers when sick ever.  One time I went to the doctor thinking I had strep and when that came back negative I asked for a flu test because I felt so awful and much worse than just a cold - doctor didn't want to do it because I didn't have fever, but I pushed for it and it came back positive.  Afterwards she said she was glad I had pushed for the test as she wouldn't have done it otherwise and wouldn't have suspected.

I have a low body temp so when my temperature is 99 I feel horrible, and it's a sign in really sick, but doctors have shooed it off. I once wandered around with strep throat for a week because the doctor refused to give me abx because I had no fever and rapid test was negative.

Then, they called me back embarrassed because the long test was positive. I'd been to see them three times. I knew what I had. They kept giving me lectures about anx overuse. [/quote]
