Post after post today on my kid’s college parent page complaining their snowflakes had work due over the past holiday week. My own spent hours a day studying for a major test this past Saturday. They were shocked I tell you! I think some of them will be calling their kid’s bosses when they have to take home work!
Why on earth are you even in those Facebook groups?
DP. They are actually pretty handy for information that the school doesn't provide -- there are local parents on the page who are very helpful with recommendations for local doctors, car repair, birthday cookie delivery services, what nice hotels still have availability for parent's weekend, etc. As the parent of a freshman, it was useful for been-there tips around the first dorm move in. You do have to sift through a few hysterical posts from parents who are way too involved, but I just laugh and ignore it. The Facebook page I'm on has a very good moderator who is excellent at gently - but clearly -- telling parents that they need to have their kid contact xxx office about their issue. All in all, it's worth checking on every now and then.
