Even canvas totes are bad for the environment. It's all bad for the environment, basically - pick your poison. Buying secondhand helps ameliorate, I think. There are plant-based leathers now. Cactus is one. There's mushroom leather. It's still not everywhere, like plastic leather, but it's increasingly available.[/quote]
