I love that movie so much! My mom liked Jean Shepherd's books when I was a kid (Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories is still a favorite for both of us) and the movie is fantastic.

DH is European and on our first Christmas together back to visit my family I turned TBS on in our hotel and they were running their A Christmas Story marathon. He was absolutely enthralled. I'll never forget during the scene when Peter Billingsley is talking to Santa Claus and climbs frantically back up the slide to say he wants the Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas, DH randomly burst out, "that kid's the best actor I've ever seen." 😂 Can't wait to see the sequel and am glad it's getting good reviews![/quote]
