5,000mcg of liquid B-12 from the health food store.
What happens if you take too much?
It supposedly comes out in your pee. I over did it and my numbers were crazy high but the doctor wasn't concerned. I now take it just a few times a week. But, I use the soft gels not liquid.
So, 5,000 mcg liquid about 3 x a week. So what do your numbers look like now? Do you get tested yearly?
I've tested a few times in the past few years. I had to beg the doctors to test for B and D. It was silly given they were testing for other stuff. I was very very low for both. Last time I tested after doing the shots then pills I was alarmingly high but nothing bad has happened. Its worth testing for. Otherwise do 1000 mcg a few times a week. 5000 mcg is very high (which I've done). I will sometimes do the 5000 mcg 1-2 times a week or the 1000 mcg daily depending on my mood. If you are a vegetarian, its important to test as its very hard to get B from foods without meat.
