A few months ago a 12 year old playing in the little league World Series fell off his bunk bed at the complex where the kids are housed during the World Series and had a serious brain injury. He rolled out of the top bunk in the middle of the night. Luckily one of his teammates is a light sleeper and heard the thump and got help. The boy was helicoptered to a trauma center and had to have surgery. So surprisingly not all bunk beds have Guard rails in this day and age.
This. And I saw an update and he has a significant TBI. Thank goodness his roommate woke up but it is a long recovery he is having seizures etc. Eorth it to have guard rails.
