Oh, honey, I feel for you. Except when he was super-fit, my DH has always snored. He's got low muscle tone (didn't know it until our kids were diagnosed with it but they don't snore) and it's very common in that group. He had the tissue in the back of his throat shrunk (sort of like surgery but with microwave) and it was only a temporary fix. I was okay with separate bedrooms but we weren't able to go on vacation or visit family/friends. When we have people visiting us, DH slept on the couch but he woke everyone with his snoring. It was horrible. A friend had gotten an CPAP machine and told us all about it and what her sleep problems were doing to her health. I was finally able to convince DH to get a sleep study and he got one. It's been amazing! It took a little while for him to get used to but he recognizes now that poor sleep was having a huge effect on him. I suggest you start by pushing your DH to see an ENT to ensure there's nothing in the nasal/sinus area that causing the snoring. A CPAP is really only something you'd get after checking to make sure there's nothing else going on. I started snoring and it turns out I had nasal polyps and a deviated septum. Once those were removed/corrected, my snoring stopped. Good luck.
