A good friend told me she allows this for her high schooler but limits the mental health days to 2 a semester or another number. It helps to keep days off to a minimum and helps them be responsible about when they really need a day off versus when they really want one. She told me her kids have been very good about following the rules and some semesters they take no mental health days but others they may use both to catch up on sleep or to decompress. It's something I'm hoping to implement with our children as they get older. [/quote]
