Many Whitman parents have caused the school to be a pressure cooker for their teenagers because they want to be seen as "keeping up with the Jones's) as in "my daughter got into Michigan, or my son was accepted by Stanford". The social scene involves a lot of alcohol and weed. The Whitman sports teams are some of the best in the county.[/quote]
