Our future HS says that you can find a list of courses offered in the course bulletin for MCPS, found here: http://coursebulletin.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/publications/HSCourseBulletin2023.pdf I'm confused -- does every high school offer every course in the bulletin? I imagine some are not offered everywhere. How do you know what classes are offered in your school? For example, the bulletin says that English 9 and English 9 honors are both offered. But I have heard here that some high schools only offer the honors version. TIA
The most important thing about that bulletin pdf is that it specifies the graduation requirements for this year's entering 9th graders. Courses listed satisfy requirements as listed and any changes in the next 3 years apply to future graduating classes. The online version of the catalog used to cross-reference between the courses and schools (courses had a list of schools), but now it is just one-way. The school list seems a little out of date, but is good enough to figure out main differences such as languages, IB/AP, and career completer programs. http://coursebulletin.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/SchoolCourseCatalogs/Index/All Schools are just now beginning conversations to identify next year's offerings (elective changes) and any tweaks to internal programming/course sequencing logic. They should have an updated bulletin for next year available mid-December for course registration to begin. Your school's counseling website is the best place to find the most current information for your school.
