It's one thing to change up the spelling of a common name (Kris, Lauryn, etc.) but to do so with an uncommon name that's also a thing just looks uneducated, and I don't think that's the impression you want to give about your family or your child.  Yes, I know this is America and you can do what you want, but think about the implications for your child.

If you're deadset on it, consider using it as a middle name so your child can use something else professionally.  [/quote]
