Two faced? Are you sure that's what you meant?

In any event - judgmental? Yes. Bitter or two-faced? I don't know about that. But yes, an anonymous board gives some the feeling that they can 'tell it like it is". I actually appreciate it because your friends and family aren't going to do that for you - they will coddle you.

In every situation, here or IRL, you take what resonates and leave what doesn't. It really does come down to your response. You don't have to engage in the back and forth, but it is helpful to understand the other side - even if the other side is wrong, does that make sense? It may help someone understand the thinking of the person they posted about, a debate they have, an internal struggle, etc.

I see posts on here everyday about childhood trauma with cold narcissistic parents. I went on another post and a parent there said "what do you do when your adult child goes to therapy and lays blame at your feet?".  So it's really very well be different perspectives of the same scenario.

And IRL, people are rude, nasty, etc. and you say "they don't do it in public" - but when are you going around asking complete strangers what they think about your very personal situation? So it's not really true that people aren't like that in real life. They exist. You choose to not deal with them. You can do so on this board as well.[/quote]
