Subbing is a common way people get their feet wet with teaching. Students in education program regularly sub and then go on to teach. Sure, it doesn't give you a true experience, but people have the capacity to imagine how the role would be different if they had the capacity to design lessons and build relationships with students. Subbing just gets them in the school to watch a bit to see if they think they can handle it.[/quote]
