It does prevent hunger actually, so says the article.
They are using the medical establishment to create a state of near starvation, depriving the body of any carbohydrates in order to cause the body to use an alternate metabolic pathway called ketosis. I think it should be regarded as medical malpractice.
I agree. I noticed they didn't mention "seizures" as a risk, but isn't that a risk when you rapidly lose weight? Also, can't you get infections from the tubes? I also wonder how they feel after. I need my vegetables, fruits and lean proteins (and chocolate ;) to feel good and healthy. Even just going out of town and not having access to all the healthy foods I like makes me feel run down. That said, I struggle with my weight. I once saw some snipet where women went to a doctor and I think he rubbed some lazer thing all over them and they swore they lost weight. If it was found to be safe, I would be open to this. I would follow a healthy diet too. I am at risk for so many health issues if I don't get back to a normal BMI and I just can't lose those last 5-10 pounds despite healthy eating and exercise. Feeding tube? No way!!!!
