WIW is probably zero. (Pre) Fall Ball games played in August mean about as much as NFL pre-season games (or even less considering the season is 7 months away), so I wouldn't worry on results. Most teams are not full strength and usually use the fall to give young/new players a look, get rust off, etc. As for the crystal ball, agree on Oakton. May be right there with Yorktown based on what they have coming back. Disagree on Woodson. They return their best players from last year, so the expectations are high. Agree the jury is still out on some traditional powers that lost a lot from last year. I expect they will get there by the season as there still is some talent returning, but it will depend on how they replace the losses. I expect hiccups with some of them along the way. Battlefield is always the exception and hard to read. I think they are a really good team, but they just don't have the competition in Regions A and B to sharpen them when it matters. Maybe Freedom or JC can challenge them, but I would not be surprised with another VHSL runner-up trophy in their trophy case next Spring.
I agree on the Woodson comment as they are returning their All American Junior Middie As for Battlefield, you are right, there is zero competition for them. They will be runners up again, but the weak competition will not prepare them for the final game
