Mail them early, require them to be received (not postmarked) by election day, and process them before election day so that counting can begin ASAP (i.e. take them out of their envelopes and put them in the queue to be counted).[/quote] Requiring that they be “received” by Election Day is way too stringent, since the person mailing the ballot has zero control over what happens once it’s mailed. This is why DeJoy is still in charge of the USPS — offering opportunities to “delay” ballots from certain areas. I agree that the ballots should be processed as they arrive. [/quote]
