Find her “currency”. For my oldest it was a see-through mesh bag filled with cars that he could see but not touch. Every successful pee trip allowed him to choose one car. For my second, it was three to five minutes of screen time. She would initiate potty trip and sit there and wait for just a few minutes with my phone as her reward! Both trained before two but I’m sure the reward - good rewards - system works. My nephew was three and not the least bit interested in using the potty. So my sister bought him a Hot Wheels garage and left it in the box next to his potty. After a week of looking at the pictures on the box, he started to use to potty. After a week or two, he got it.
Thank you so much. I said to my husband today “what is her currency”? A term I learned on DCUM! I found one today when she wasn’t responding to the chocolate candy. She’ll sit on the potty but nothing happens. She’ll stand up and pee herself five minutes later.
Talk about “opening the door inside”. I have no clue why but that phrase really helped my kid get the concept of releasing pee. Also have them blow as if they were blowing out a candle. Your kid will get there. Keep going and talking.
