It’s sad to see his mental health take him down. I hope he gets the help he needs and comes back strong because he’s an amazing actor and everybody is growing as a human .. even rich successful people. I actually don’t know how some people stay so solid through all of it.
I agree with this. No excuses for what he did, but I have struggled with mental health and it's hard. It really feels to me like he wants to be well. I think the fame can't possibly help with it, either. The money, yes. The privilege, yes. But I think of some of my mental health challenges and I know that intense public scrutiny would be the worst possible thing for them. I do hope he gets better and I hope he gets another chance. I'd say that about anyone. What he did was terrible but it is meaningful to apologize and own your mistakes. Also, regarding Jada -- this was HIS statement. It makes sense for him to say "Jada didn't make me do this" because it's true. No one can make you do anything in the moment like that. Comparing the situation to something Ghislaine Maxwell said about her own culpability is incorrect. It would be an apt comparison if, instead of apologizing for his actions, Smith had said "I regret marrying Jada and listening to her." He's actually taking responsibility for himself. Let Jada worry about Jada.
