The World Bank Children's Center (WBCC) is a top center for early education, far exceeding DC standards. Daughter has been there full time since she was 8 months old (now 4.5 y.o.), except for the time it was closed during the pandemic. Excellent teachers and care, with a low teacher-student ratio (2:8, 2:10, 2:16, depending on the kid's age). Pictures sent daily, good communication with the parents from the teachers and administration, great and safe facilities (we are in the C building) and a balanced menu (including vegetarian options). Follows the Reggio Emilia method, centered in the child, creativity, morning circle, singing, arts, etc... Very international obviously, which is a great strength. Well respected across schools in the region. Other parents that left before (due to age of kid or the pandemic) were told their children stood out in the play sessions/parents interviews when applying to elementary schools. Highly recommend it if you are a WBG staff. When we applied there was a lottery and were lucky to get in, given how much demand there was. Now the application system is a bit different and there are more spaces available, so defitinetly consider it and apply. It's the best investment in the early stages of your child - besides family, pediatric visits, and nature :-)
