Lately (a year ago) Ryan proposed a plan where everyone gets a set benefit amount and they buy private insurance. That's smooth, because we cap what we pay but not what it costs. Didn't fly so well. Now they have a "new new" plan, which is to put Medicare/Medicaid people into the federal health plans, but do nothing new for anyone else, I guess leaving them to get sick and then go into the new and improved Medicaid after they get expensive illnesses.[/quote]
