It's district wide- still quarantining if unvaxxed.  The whole class wouldn't be a close contact in most cases though.[/quote]

No. If they are unvax and no symptoms they test to stay.

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Test-to-Stay Program (TTS) allows students identified as close contacts to remain in school instead of quarantining at home.

WHO: To be eligible, students must be unvaccinated, asymptomatic, and identified as a close contact via exposure that occurred at school. (More info for vaccinated students)
WHEN: Free proctored COVID-19 testing will be provided for these students at Syphax from 8:15 a.m.-7 p.m. on school days. The program requires close contacts to take the COVID-19 rapid test for five consecutive days following the exposure.
