We visited and liked it but we know a student there who doesn’t like it much at all and regrets going. Too many ultra wealthy, entitled, out of touch kids.
I’d like to know of an elite private school without this problem.
And there’s the problem with these schools. Primarily serving the rich and privileged. Easiest way to get in is to be born rich and get the best education and sports coaching money can buy.
It's an issue at most of the T100 schools. Anything that costs more than $20-25K/year will be filled with "rich" kids. If the school makes an effort to bring in a large "first gen" group of students the dichotomy will be even larger in many ways. All schools have rich kids who don't flaunt it and relate well to everyone (because their parents have raised them well---my own kid doesn't flaunt his wealth, he just happily pays for the Ubers from the bars and happily picks up the ubereats costs for his friends/roommates when they are waiting for their next paycheck or gives roommate $100 in gas $ to drive home and visit parent in hospital with covid for 2 months because friend couldn't afford it because that is what decent people do while not making a big deal about it or making the other person feel indebted at all, etc)
