This is the school for troubled kids. If you read the article it says "Staff asked the student to agree to a "self-search," which is part of school protocol."

They have three locations: Germantown, Rockville, and Silver Spring. What's the alternative? These kids already couldn't hack it in a mainstream high school and are tiptoeing the edge of the court system and juvenile detention (since the stuff that will get you expelled from an MCPS school or in serious trouble for attendance generally also rises to the level of getting arrested, or ending up in truancy court, even if it isn't always pursued). They'd be concentrated there anyway. What's the other choice?[/quote]
