Article in today's Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2022/06/07/dc-school-board-election-contributions/ Funding for DFER and DFER-DC: https://dferdinos.com/ Why would any DC resident want to support a candidate who openly accepted the support of a right wing organization?
It was pretty eye opening to learn who they were and what they were about. I remember their attack mailers against Janeese Lewis George / boating Brandon Todd. They are either stupid or malicious, and I lean heavily towards thinking they are malicious.
Eh I'm not seeing what's so "right wing" about this group. Centrist D, maybe. Seems like they just don't like the WTU, and can't say I blame them after last year.
There's some serious bleed-over to the right wing education advocates who want to dismantle public schools in favor of vouchers to private religious schools. dFER just cares that the $$ are flowing to their backers. Look at some of the interactions between the "centrist Democrats" andBetsy Devos and co. during the Trump years.
