This was APS, so it might be very different where you are, but I’m not sure this is something to worry about too much. You can write a kind, non-pushy email to the teacher asking how placements are made and if there is anything your kid could do to show that algebra is the appropriate placement. [/quote] You're in an FCPS thread and in FCPS you need a pass advance on the 7th grade math SOL to take algebra in 7th [/quote] +1 In the same position (in FCPS) and there is no question how placements are made, it is explicit that a student have certain threshold scores on IAAT and math SOL. So while I have never really acred about SOL scores for elementary, this is one people have a reason to care anout.[/quote]
