We coslept at night, and she napped in a bassinet during the day. We transitioned her to a twin bed in her own bedroom when she was 3. For the first year, she would regularly climb into our bed in the wee hours of the morning, but at 4, it stopped and she transitioned fully.
And just to add on: this was for my second child. We could not co-sleep with out first, because he was born very premature, and doctors told us he was too fragile to sleep with adults. We put his crib close to my side of the bed so I could keep an eye on him (he choked badly and turned blue one night, so I was glad I was close enough to hear and pull him up). He never slept in our bed. We loved having DC2 in our bed, actually. Who knows? You might like it too and keep it up for more than your initial period!
