29 at Lake Braddock today, almost 100 last week. I don't know why they send this when nothing will change, no masks, no testing.
It allows individual families decide if they want to take more/less precautions. I would guess we ditch this reporting in the Fall.
What precaution can I take? I can't just keep them at home? I encourage hand washing and sanitizing, but they're unmasked at lunch as they should be. what is there to do? Why tell us the numbers with no action?
Please do not send your student to school with a headache, fever, nausea, cough, chills, sore throat, runny nose, congestion and or sudden loss or complaint of foods tasting odd and or loss of smell. I think I listed all Covid like symptoms. Because here’s what will happen: your DC will self report and or a teacher will notice one or more of above symptoms and student will be sent to the clinic. Expect a call to pick up your student asap, like within a 1/2 hour. Ask for a Covid test kit at pick up. And: if by now at this point in the school year you’ve not noted in your students health record that student has ongoing headaches, seasonal allergies, for example, your kid is still going home as there is no note in the file. Perhaps you can get a medical provider’s note added to your students file. Also, we are trying to keep everyone safe. We are not calling you to make your life inconvenient or to harass you. Please don’t scream at me when I politely state the facts to collect your student. Yes, keeping your sick child waiting for over 2 hours is noted by the administration. We track how long a student has to wait.
